What this report covers — and what it doesn't

Automated tools reliably find issues with objective pass/fail rules — roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues. We tell you exactly which findings are in scope and which require a human expert. No false promises.

Our scanner reliably finds

  • Missing or empty alt text
  • Colour contrast failures
  • Missing form labels
  • ARIA attribute errors
  • Empty links and buttons
  • Missing page language
  • Skipped heading levels
  • Auto-play media issues

Needs a human expert

  • Complex chart caption quality
  • Keyboard navigation flow
  • Cognitive accessibility problems
  • Ambiguous link text in context
  • Custom component edge cases
  • Screen reader reading order

Every report includes a scope note and guidance on next steps for a full manual audit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the European Accessibility Act (EAA)?
The EAA (EU Directive 2019/882) requires most businesses selling digital services to EU customers to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Enforcement began June 2025. Non-compliant businesses face remediation orders and potential fines — in Germany, fines can reach €100,000.
Does this scan make my website EAA compliant?
No — and we'll never claim it does. Our scan finds the highest-risk issues detectable by automated tools (~30–40% of WCAG issues). Full compliance requires addressing automated findings plus manual testing by a human expert. Every report is honest about this, which is our differentiator from overlay products like accessiBe.
What is the accessibility statement and why do I need one?
Most EU member states require businesses to publish an accessibility statement on their website declaring their conformance level, known issues, and a contact for accessibility complaints. We generate this document — in EN, DE or FR — based on your actual scan results, using the W3C model statement format. This is a concrete EAA compliance requirement, not optional.
How many pages does the scan cover?
Up to 25 pages per scan. We start with your sitemap if available, then follow internal links. For larger sites (100+ pages) or multi-domain setups, contact us for a custom quote.
What if I need help actually fixing the issues?
The Fix-Pack tier includes code-level patch snippets for each finding and a developer handoff document. For full remediation services, we recommend connecting with an accessibility consultant — we can refer you to partners. We deliberately do not offer remediation ourselves, so our audit is never biased toward findings that generate more paid work.
How is my data handled? Is it GDPR compliant?
Your email and scan results are stored on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (Hetzner). Raw crawl data is automatically purged after 30 days. Payment data is handled entirely by Dodo Payments — we never see your card details. We use Umami analytics, which sets no cookies. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If your report was not delivered or failed technically, we refund in full, no questions asked. For delivered reports, contact us at refunds@eaascanner.com and we'll work it out. See our Refund Policy for details.
Do you offer white-label reports for agencies?
Yes — the Fix-Pack tier includes a white-label PDF with a slot for your agency logo. Agencies can resell the €49 scan at €150–300+ as a compliance check service to their SMB clients. For monthly volume (10+ reports), contact us about agency pricing.
